you get your national insurance card out a few months before you turn 16.. its red and blue? if you don’t have it then you’ll have to send away for a new one….
This is automatically notified to you when you reach 16, whether you take up work or not. To get more information and help, ring your local Job Centre Plus office who will be able to advise you.
They will know at the Job center plus.
You could go down to your local Social Welfare office or Job Center. The should be able to look up your number for you.
You will need to take some form of photo identification to prove who you are, your passport or new form of driving licence should do the job.
The address they have against your name might well be the one you had when the number was issued at 16; unless you have signed on since them.
