That’s a difficult and unfortunate one, sorry to hear your in this position. I’ve heard that some travel insurers wont pay out in these circumstances as your aware of this at the time of taking the policy out. I’d try a site like moneysupermarket as they will give you lots of options and you can look at the terms and conditions on there too to make sure your covered first hope this helps and my sympathy is with you at this time.

As a broker offering travel insurance I don’t think that there is anyone who would provide cancellation cover under those circumstances.

I am sorry about your circumstances, but this is a good example why travel insurance should be purchased as soon as the holiday is booked – as cancellation cover starts immediately.

The Post Office is supposed to be pretty good with travel insurance.

However, specify the circumstances before you purchase with any company and ENSURE you will definitely be covered.

Call the airline and/or hotel or contact your credit card companies and ask them for this. Your credit card may have automatic insurance.
