It can add about £400-£500 to his insurance, depending on the car and your age, ruffly.
Will depend on what type and power of car and if you are over 25 years old.
So it hard to say for certain.
Good luck

It shouldn’t cost anything. A licensed driver is required to be in the front seat with you at all times you are driving. After you get your license, that will be a different horse of another color.r
Try getting an online insurance quote It’s free and generally hassle free.
Good Luck.
It’s hard to even give an estimate.
You may try to google it,here has some direct resource that might be helpful.
The answer depends on quite a lot.
I am assuming you are insured in the UK. Many UK insurers won’t even cover provisional drivers, particularly those under 25 years of age.
However, if that is not a problem, you have a couple of options.
You can add yourself as a temporary additional driver and pay for a set period of time. Typically this is about £25 per week.
Alternatively you can add yourself permanently to the policy. Just like all insurance quotes, the cost of this varies by insurer. Your age will be a big factor, if over 25, my best guess is that insurers will look for an additional 30% on average on the premium (but they will pro rata that charge)
You can compare how the insurance quotes would change, for example here – autoinsurance.noneto.com
