You cannot be employed in the uk without a national insurance number you need to contact dhss and ask advice on a temporary one

If you want to apply for a professional job then you will need a national insurance number as they are used to pay tax and for your pension. If you dont have one and apply for a job then the tax man could catch up with you and it also means when you retire you wont get a state pension.
Get one ASAP and keep it safe!

you’ll need one before you start work but perhaps not at interview stage. apply for one now.

You can apply for the number and then produce your application letter at your interview.

As you are not British, they will ask you for your offer letter in order to issue you with an number.

I was in the same situation than you and I manage it there is no reason why you cannot get a job.
    Good luck

You can get a job before you have a National Insurance Number, as long as you have already applied or apply as soon as you commence employment. (Quote from part of HN Customs Excise site – an employee may start work before they have a NI number)

An employer will know how to get a temporary NI number until a permanent one has been issued.
