Don’t worry if you haven’t got all the info you require before the interview. When most people reach 16, they are sent a card from the Dept works and pensions giving this number. If you haven’t had this (or chucked it out as you may well have done – all this bureaucratic rubbish – ring your job centre(number in phone book) and ask them how to get one
Go to the HMRC website and find the address for the department which deals with NAtional INsurance. You will need to write to them with your date of birth and they will send your number to you. Everyone has an NI number from the age of 16. They wont give you the inforomation over the phone for security reasons.
