fast cars are usually higher insurance group.
Have you thought of a Focus??
Look for a Hyundai Tiburon. They are relatively powerful and cheap compared to most other sports cars, but are excellent quality. Not sure what insurance group they are in but should be fairly low.

Ford Focus? Are you serious?
306 D turbo: Group 5 0 – 60 in 13.3 seconds. Even the slow GTis are sub 10 seconds.
An Alfa will fall to bits before your very eyes.
Daft as it sounds: Peugeot 306 Dturbo
Group 4 insurance, 55 mpg and faster than a golf GTI.
if you bought a 1.4 civic and get performance PARTS for it that’ll do the job
my car is a alfa Gtv 2 litre, group 14, i am 24, costs me £700 with 1 year no claims.
you will need to look for any car under a 1.6. any above that will be high insurance for you.
Try to not go for the typical boy racer cars like corsa, civic, punto, etc as the insurance is always higher
Peugeot 306 xsi
a diesel turbo is a good one for insurance
