It is not up to the Insurance Company to make your house better than it had been a week ago, If you had wanted this facility, you should have taken out a maintenance contract with a heating contractor. They should pay you full value of the replacement (less any deductible), as long as you only replace it. Some policies, however will allow you to settle for a cash payout, which is less than the full replacement costs, but you can do what you want with this cash.
