Here’s how it works. Get a temporary license from the GA DOT bureau of driver licenses. You must show proof of insurance. If you’re stopped without insurance your car will be confiscated and you will go to jail. If you don’t pay the fine, the next time you’re in he tates, if you’re stopped anywhere there will be an open warrant on file for your arrest, no matter what state you’re in. Oh and if it’s your friend’s car you’re driving, remember what I said, it will be confiscated and he will lose his car.

Insurance goes with vehicles, not with drivers. Doesn’t your friend have insurance on his car? If not, don’t drive it. If you got stopped you would get ticketed and the car could be impounded.

First, cars are insured in the USA, not drivers. second, Not all states require Auto insurance. Wisconsin is one such state but I do not know about Georgia. If insurance is required in Ga and there is none, the owner of the vehicle will be the one in hot water, not the driver. (Assuming the driver has proper permission to drive the auto).
What is the friends role in this ? If it is his car you will be driving, he may have insurance on the auto ?
